Terms of use
Last updated 2026-04-20
1. Who this covers
These terms apply to anyone using The List — whether you're hosting an event or signing up to one. By using the service you agree to these terms.
2. The service
The List is a free tool that creates live, anonymous sign-up boards for events. Events auto-delete after 48 hours of inactivity. There is no account; possession of an admin URL constitutes authorisation to manage the event it links to.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for illegal activity or content.
- Use it to collect personal data beyond what your event actually needs.
- Attempt to disrupt, probe, or overload the service.
- Use it to harass, intimidate, or doxx anyone.
- Automate mass event creation or flood the service.
We may rate-limit, block, or remove any event or IP that breaches these rules, at our discretion, without notice.
4. Host responsibilities
If you create an event, you are the data controller for the sign-ups collected. You're responsible for only asking for fields that make sense for your event, for treating performer data respectfully, and for complying with UK GDPR in your collection and onward use of it.
5. No warranty
The service is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee uptime, data retention beyond the documented 48-hour window, or that any specific feature will continue to work.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The List and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from use of the service. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction is to stop using it.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent change.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, with disputes resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
